When doing an MRI scanning, patient headphones are used to reduce noise from the machine and enable the patient to listen to music during a scan. This was an industrial design project in which we delivered functional prototypes.
Existing headphones are bulky and uncomfortable and the project goal was to enhance comfort and experience during an MRI scanning. For both doctors and patients. My job included concept development, 3D modeling, prototype assembly, and functional testing.
We worked closely with the customer and did testing at Karolinska University Hospital. The project delivery was a series of functional prototypes to be distributed and further tested worldwide.
